Exciting announcements made at this year’s Celebration of Excellence event bring us all one step closer to achieving Vision 2020 and making NSU an even better place for our students, our community, and our world.
First, we announced an additional $25 million gift from the Patel Family Foundation to name our new MD college the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine and also presented Dr. Kiran C. Patel and his wife, Dr. Pallavi Patel the President’s Award for Excellence in Community Service for their community involvement and unwavering generosity to NSU. This follows the $50 million gift they gave in September to rename the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences.
Next, we announced that we have renamed of our college of nursing to become the Ron and Kathy Assaf College of Nursing, thanks to the giving of NSU’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees Ronald Assaf and his wife, Kathy.
But that wasn’t all.
The combined philanthropic giving of the Patels and other donors brought us very close to achieving our $250 million goal for the Realizing Potential fundraising campaign. But it was Ron and Kathy Assaf who put us over the top.
Because of the generosity of all of our Realizing Potential donors over these past few years, NSU has now surpassed its landmark $250 million philanthropic goal three years ahead of time.
Join us today in Realizing Potential.
