Giving FAQs

For an annual gift of $1,000 (or $83.34 per month), committed for 5 years, donors have an opportunity to name a Changing Lives Scholarship. This 100% per year distribution to a deserving student helps close the gap between tuition and living expenses and truly makes a tremendous impact in a student’s experience at NSU. Plus, in naming the scholarship, you can honor a family member or personal hero.

Gifts by Changing Lives Scholarship benefactors count toward the annual President’s Associates roster, for each year funded.

Steps:

  1. On the Online Giving Form, put $83.34 as the amount you wish to give.
  2. Select “Other” under Gift Area, and type in “Changing Lives Scholarship”.
  3. Before you complete your gift, you will have the opportunity to make this a monthly contribution.
  4. Submit your gift, and a member of our development staff will contact you to finalize the details of your scholarship.

Congratulations on taking the first steps toward creating a scholarship! THANK YOU!

A matching gift is a donation from your employer to your designated area of giving. Each company varies in policy and may match 1:1 or 3:1, increasing the total contribution you are able to make. Check to see if your company has a matching gift program.

Yes. We invite you to support the area or areas of the university that interest you most. If you would like to make a gift to more than one area, please indicate this in the comment section provided when making your gift.

Unrestricted gifts provide the university with the maximum amount of financial flexibility to fund immediate and pressing needs. For example, tuition revenue covers nearly two-thirds of the annual cost of education; unrestricted support can help bridge the difference.

NSU's non-profit tax ID number is 59-1083502. Gifts may be tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

July 1 - June 30. Gifts made at any point during this timeframe are credited to your donation history for the year and cumulatively. ($50,000 or more in outright or cumulative life-time giving qualifies you for NSU's Fellows Society.)

*If you are considering contributing $1,000 or more, a gift made by May 1 allows us to include you in the annual President's Associates reception.
