NSU President Hanbury FY16 Highlights Report

FY16 NSU President's Report

Dear friends of NSU,

Each year, the momentum continues to build as we make progress toward achieving NSU’s Vision 2020.

In the 2015-2016 fiscal year, we launched the university’s largest-ever external funding campaign, which by 2020 will raise $250 million in philanthropic support for our students, our faculty, and 21st century education.  In addition, we will raise another $300 million in sponsored research, service, and training projects. I am happy to report that we have surpassed the halfway point in both of these monumental campaigns.

This spring, HCA East Florida gained approval from the state to build a 200-bed community hospital on the NSU Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus, which will grow into a teaching and research hospital linked to NSU’s research and clinical trial programs. And the university is in a period of unprecedented expansion in research and technology transfer, which will be bolstered this September with the opening of the Center for Collaborative Research.

I invite you to view some of this year’s highlights, and join me as we celebrate the end of a very successful academic year. Then, I ask you to continue making history with me as we press forward, for as Edmund Burke said, “You cannot plan the future by the past.”
